Every day they arrive at the Los Angeles airport, rehearse auditions in line at the supermarket. They come from cities in the Midwest where nothing ever happens. Many times, the parents of these girls push them and follow them on this unlikely path, taking them to auditions, to see agents, filming and acting classes. They are looking for what TV programming promises them day after day: their piece of the sweet and gooey cake of the American dream.
