MARTIN-PORRAS
David Martin-Porras is a Spanish filmmaker based in Los Angeles. He has directed several award-winning films with stars such as Primetime Emmy Award-winning actress Regina King (Ray, Southland), Tony Award-winning actress Cherry Jones (24, Signs) or Latin idol Maria Conchita Alonso (Colors, The Running Man).
His films Round Trip and Portrait of a Couple have screened in more than 100 festivals (South by Southwest, Palm Springs, Malaga) and have won coveted honors such as the DGA Student Awards (Latino category) and the Student Academy Awards (National Finalist).
His last short film Inside The Box won more than 35 awards worldwide and was nominated for the 2016 Spanish Academy Awards.
David’s first feature, Stealing Summers, stars James Jagger (Vinyl) and Wilson Bethel (Hart of Dixie). He was selected to be part of Film Independent’s Lab Project: Involve and was one of the episodic directors of the prestigious 2012-2014 ABC/Disney Directing Program. David got his MFA in Directing at UCLA.
David finished recently the psychological thriller Unwritten Obsession for MarVista Entertainment with Haley Webb (Teen Wolf) that has premiered on Lifetime. At the moment he is in post-production of his last film The Chain with Ray Wise (Robocop, Twin Peaks), John Patrcik Amedori (Dear White People) and Madeline Zima (Californication).
